Chasing Water Dragons #atozchallenge

A Whimsical Medley - Is my theme for the A to Z Challenge !! Hope you smile today :)
******************
I love these gorgeous creation of nature. Intimidating yes, but aren't they absolutely fascinating!!

I often come across them while bushwalking and they are quite common in Australia. My first tryst with water dragons was went I was calmly sitting on a rock, enjoying the view of the sea and blue skies, coaxing my husband to take one of those picture perfect travel photos.

So I sat there, with my hips swayed on one side, shoulders tiny bit tilted to hide flappy arms, fingers making the typical V sign. It was then I felt movement in the corner. Seems like I was obstructing the view of this big fella, who was lost in the milieu. My heart of course jumped out of my mouth as soon as I laid my eyes on his scaly skin.

But in the end I only ended up being an irritating Papparazzi, desperately chasing it to get the perfect shot. Up the rocks, into the foliage, braving cobwebs sticking to my face ... not a pretty sight I tell you.

Seems they are pretty harmless shy creatures, if you ignore their scary scales.

Along with ClaireParul and Shalini we have formed an Unconventional Alliance with A to Z co-host Pam Margolis as the ring leader ... all set to rock the party

  12. You sound just like me, I'd be chasing after the perfect photo too! Wish I could see some lizards in the UK. The closest I've got is a grass snake, which I was still very pleased with.
