Rejuvenated Blend of Ghar ka Khana, Korean serials and Jharu Pocha

Rejuvenated - yes that’s how I am feeling … after spending a much-needed vacation at my hometown, Jorhat … where winter has still not completely lifted its veil … the cool fog filled mornings and the cold evenings, cotton Rajai’s , little bit of rain , pakoras, chai and mithai – I felt I was in paradise … perfectfly blissfull holidays …

The amount of Ghar-ka-khana (Homemade food) that I have stuffed myself with, is enough to last my stay in Kolkata… (which is soon going to end)… The rate at which I was gorging down the food made my Mom wonder if I landed straight from Somalia … her “Khao beta Khao ” encouraged me even more …

When I was in 9th standard , there was a story in our English reader about a “pot-bellied trader ”… since last week the term “pot-bellied” has been haunting me… because that’s what I am turning into… it seems all the fats, minerals and vitamins have conspired to accumulate only in my abdomen region… my clever self decided to shed off some fats by doing some house hold work… with vibrant enthusiasm and armed with jharu-pocha I started my mission… but my the time I finished sweeping, I could see stars-moon-neutrons-protons-electrons revolving around my head…
Conclusion: getting up early and going for a walk is a far better option …

The whole week I feasted on Korean serials… telecasted on KBS World… which sadly is not available in Kolkata, neither in Chennai… watched and re-watched My Sassy Girl (Korean)… now it has become a habit to search for subtitles even when I am watching a hindi movie …

I have realised that Common Sense evades me right at the moment when I need it … My dad was suppose to meet Mr X … since I was with him at that time I also tagged along … We met at the appointed place …I had a huge file in my hand … my Dad introduced me to him … He extended his hand and I simply handed him the file …
My dad said , “he wants to shake your hands Beta” …
Mumbling, fumbling … “Ohhhh” …
I foolishly grinned, took back the file, shook hands … and prayed hard for the earth to part and take me inside it …

My bro and sis came all the way from Guwahati to meet me… the whole day my Mom prepared herself , mentally and physically, for the arrival of this Toofan-mail … my bro brought a whole bag of his sweaty-muddy-stinking clothes to be washed … strictly forbidden to be smelled or commented upon …
It was great to see the whole family dining together … a picture perfect moment…
The return jouney was enjoyable too … the Jetlite Stewards were so handsome … loved watching them don an apron and serving sandwiches … another Kodak moment … I would have called it a ‘happy jouney’ if not tormented by severe ear & eyes pain while landing …

Vacation over … another set of moments to be added in my Memories Album…
